Abstract

A crossbred Jersey cow was presented with chronic recurrent tympany since last two months. Per-rectal examination showed distended and heavily impacted rumen. Exploratory rumenotomy was performed and around 40 kg of foreign materials including plastics, rubber materials, iron nut bolt were removed from rumen. Postoperatively antibiotics, analgesics, fluid therapy administration and regular surgical dressing was undertaken. Animal recovered uneventfully.
