Abstract

The study evaluated drug resistance pattern of 95 E. coli isolates from diarrhoeic calves against antimicrobials by disc diffusion method. All isolates showed multi drug resistance pattern which ranged from 2.11 to 85.26%. The isolates were highly sensitive for Ciprofloxacin (71.58%) followed by Gentamicin (66.32%), Neomycin (54.74%), Cotrimoxazole (53.68%), Enrofloxacin (45.26%) and Tetracycline (32.63%). E. coli isolates was found to be highly resistant against Amoxicillin (85.26%) followed by Ampicillin (80.00%) and Penicillin (29.47%).
