Abstract

A five year old male Labrador dog was presented with history of swelling of throat at intermandibular region. A soft fluctuating swelling was observed on palpation and fluid aspirated was reddish, thick and ropy. Staining a smear made from aspirated material with mucus specific stain periodic acid Schiff (PAS) confirmed saliva. The case was diagnosed as Sublingual Sialocele and surgically treated.
