Fetal Gender - A Predisposing Factor for Uterine Torsion in Buffaloes

Abstract

Twenty five buffaloes suffering from uterine torsion were treated with detorsion via rolling of dam and in failures, caesarean section was applied for fetal delivery. After fetal delivery, sixty percent fetuses were found as male. Male fetus bears more weight and are large sized, predisposing for uterine torsion in buffaloes.
