Uterine torsion is a maternal cause of dystocia among buffaloes requiring prompt and timely correction in the form of physical methods or surgical intervention. 243 Clinical cases of uterine torsion in buffaloes of different ages and parities which could not be treated with conventional methods were treated with cesarean section. Least maternal mortality and rapid recovery was observed when surgery was performed within 24 hrs of onset of dystocia and surgical prognosis is unfavorable when performed about 120 hrs after onset of dystocia.
