Abstract

A pregnant ewe with history of mass protruding from vulva was presented for treatment. She was three years of age and in second parity. On physical examination, cervical vaginal prolapse was diagnosed. Ultrasound evaluation revealed presence of multiple foetuses. Replacement of prolapse was done to prevent trauma and to ensure ewe maintain pregnancy to full term and retention was achieved using Buhner's suture. On removal of Buhner's suture, prolapse recurred and had greater intensity of abdominal contractions. Parturition was induced and delivery assisted. Ewe delivered three viable foetuses and recurrence of prolapse was not seen thereafter.
