Abstract

A 3 year old female Dachshund was presented with history of sudden recumbency since morning and tremors of hind legs. The animal had whelped 3 weeks back and was nursing. Clinical examination revealed elevated body temperature, dilated pupils, open mouth breathing, tachycardia and rigidity of forelimbs. Laboratory findings revealed hypocalcaemia. Animal upon treatment with Calcium gluconate, recovered uneventfully.
