The study describes application of ultrasonography to assess fetal well being during pregnancy in canines. The fetal distress can be diagnosed by measuring fetal heart rate. 13 pregnant bitches were scanned, fetal heart rates were monitored and co-related with maternal heart rates. The fetal heart rate were generally more than twice of maternal heart rate in normal healthy puppies.
