The study compared histopathological observation of strip and pinch skin autografts for the management of experimental limb wounds in canines. Twelve apparently healthy adult mongrel dogs were selected and randomly divided into two equal groups. After attaining surgical anaesthesia, 5cm x 2.5cm wounds were created over the anterior aspect of each metatarsal region. Strip skin autografting was undertaken on left limb in group-1 and pinch skin autografting was undertaken on left limb of group-2. Histopathological studies were made on 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th day to observe the changes and showed early neovascularization, better organization of connective tissue and hair growth in pinch graft as compared to strip graft.
