Abstract

The study included 14 high producing multiparous suckled crossbred cows with poor to fair body conformation and history of parturition 7 months prior. The cows after thorough gynaeco-clinical examination were diagnosed as postpartum anestrous/subestrous. The animals were fed mineral mixture per oral mixed with concentrate feed for 30 days, followed by induction of estrous using Ovsynch protocol with fixed time artificial insemination (FTAI). The first and second service conception rates were 57.14% (8 out of 14 cows) and 33.33% (2 out of 6 cows), respectively. Mineral supplementation followed by Ovsynch protocol was helpful in managing postpartum anestrous/subestrous in cows.
