18 Calves (6 healthy and 12 affected with bovine respiratory disease) were selected based on clinical scoring system. Deep nasopharyngeal swabs were taken for gram staining and bacterial isolation. Bacteria were confirmed according to the standard laboratory procedures. Quantification of serum concentrations of total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TG), high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-c) and low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-c) was undertaken. Comparative evaluation revealed decrease in total cholesterol and high density lipoprotein concentrations along wih increase in serum triglycerides and low density lipoprotein concentrations along with marked oxidative stress and hepatopathy in calves.
