Diagnosis and Management of Bovine Endometritis due to Fusobacterium spp.
Abstract
Uterine sample from a crossbred Jersey cow showing signs of endometritis was collected and cultured for causative organism. The culture isolates were confirmed as Fusobacterium spp. Based on antibiotic sensitivity, the cow was treated with intrauterine Oxytetracycline for three days and allowed sexual rest for three consecutive estrus. Re-examination of uterine sample after 60 days of treatment was negative for bacterial flora suggesting recovery.
