A Murrah buffalo was presented with complaint of anorexia, decreased milk yield and purulent discharge from vulva. Clinical history indicated recent parturition with retention of fetal membranes (RFM) and manual removal. The animal showed severe tenesmus with high rectal temperature, pulse rate, congested mucous membranes and dry muzzle. The vaginal discharge was sent to laboratory for antibiotic sensitivity test. Bacterial sensitivity was highest for Ceftriaxone, followed by Oxytetracycline, Enrofloxacin, Gentamicin, Ampicillin and Ciprofloxacin. The animal recovered fully after treatment.
