Abstract

An in-vitro drug sensitivity study was conducted on milk samples of clinical mastitic cows. Out of 10 clinically positive milk samples, Staphylococcus species and E.coli were isolated from 8 and 2 milk samples respectively. Staphylococcus showed highest sensitivity to Ceftriaxone-Tazobactum combination followed by Gentamicin, Out of two isolates of E. coli, one was found sensitive to Ceftriaxone-Tazobactum and another was intermediately sensitive. However, both the isolates were found intermediately sensitive to Gentamicin, Enrofloxacin and Norfloxacin. The study showed that Ceftriaxone-Tazobactum was the best combination in use with highest sensitivity.
