The study evaluated the efficacy of parenteral antimicrobials in treatment of mastitis in buffaloes. A total of 52 buffaloes diagnosed for mastitis were randomly divided into 4 groups. In group 1 (n= 13), Ceftriaxone, in group 2 (n= 13), Amoxycillin + Sulbactam, in group 3 (n=13), Ceftizoxime and in group 4 (n=13), Ceftriaxone + Tazobactam were administered for 4–7 days respectively along with supportives. The clinical efficacy was assessed by gradual clinical improvements in term of swelling, pain, consistency of affected quarter/s of udder and teats, visual observation and pH of milk. The results indicated that recovery rate from mastitis in buffaloes after 4 and 7 days of therapies were 46.15% (6/13), 46.15% (6/13), 76.92% (10/13), 61.53% (8/13) and 76.92% (10/13), 84.61% (11/13), 92.30% (12/13), 84.61% (11/13), respectively in Ceftriaxone, Amoxicillin + Sulbactam, Ceftizoxime and Ceftriaxone + Tazobactam treated groups of animals.
