The study was conducted in 16 neonatal diarrhoeic calves suffering from moderate dehydration associated with Escherichia coli. These diarrhoeic calves were divided into two equal groups of 8 each. The group I was treated with parenteral fluid therapy along with oral Amoxicillin trihydrate @ 15mg/kg b. wt. b.i.d for 4 days, whereas group II was trerated with parenteral fluid therapy along with oral Ofloxacin @ 5mg/kg b. wt. b.i.d for 4 days. The therapeutic efficacy of group I and II were assessed and compared on basis of restoration of clinical appraisal, haemato-biochemicals and electrolytes changes. The results showed that in moderate dehydrated calves in group II treated with parenteral fluid therapy along with oral Ofloxacin showed better improvement as compared to group I.
