The study envisages the clinical manifestations of bovine dermatophilosis and assesses efficacy of various treatment options. During the study, dermatophilosis was diagnosed in 82 animals based on direct microscopical examination of skin scabs and cultural isolation. Generalised infections were noticed in 10 animals and localised infections were noticed in 72 animals. The lesions were found to occur on various parts of body, but were most common on lower part of hind and fore limbs. The other common areas affected were udder, perineum, inguinal region between thigh and udder and ventral abdomen and less commonly on neck, flank, ears, tail, head, axillae and back. Treatment response with different antifungals, antibiotics and their combinations were compared, better and rapid cure was observed with a combination of parenteral antibiotics and topical application of Tr. iodine and glycerine.
