Abstract

A Labrador retriever dog was present with history of inappetance, pyrexia since 5 days and mild vomitions. Physical examination revealed dullness, depression with icterus mucus membrane and yellowish discolouration of pectoral and inguinal skin. The complete blood count revealed leucocytosis and neutrophilia along with increased activity of serum biochemistry depicting impaired liver and kidney function test as well as total bilirubin. The initial titre in Microscopic agglutination test (MAT) was 1: 400, Leptospira interrogans Icterohaemorrhagiae and L. Interrogans serovar Grippotyphosa were confirmed by MAT. The dog was effectively treated with Doxycycline, Ceftriaxone and supportive therapy.
