Twenty white leghorn birds suffering from bumblefoot disease were treated by surgical method. After surgery, bandage, systemic antibiotics and vitamins were used. Staphylococcus bacteria, mainly S. aureus a gram positive bacterium, was isolated in pus from the abscess. After the surgical operation, swelling in digital pad reduced, skin of pad healed and signs of lameness vanished. To prevent developing bumblefoot, good bedding for proper ‘perching ’conditions and vitamin therapy to promote a healthy integument were advised.
