Abstract

The present paper describes concurrent infection of Ehrlichia canis and Mycoplasma haemocanis in a dog with clinical signs of anaemia, pyrexia, lymphadenopathy and spleenomegaly. Blood smear examination revealed morulae of Ehrlichia canis in cytoplasm of monocytes and inclusions suggestive of Mycoplasma haemocanis in erythrocytes. The animal was successfully treated with Oxytetracycline @ 20mg/kg b.wt. intravenously for five days followed by Doxycyline @10mg/kg b.wt. orally daily for 10 days and supported with Prednisolone, Haematinics and Multivitamins.
