A female kitten was presented with complaint of anorexia, lethargy, recumbency and dehydration for last three days. On clinical examination, icteric visible mucous membranes, dehydration, subnormal temperature were observed. On abdominal palpation pain was evinced and splenomegaly could be detected. Faecal sample and wet film examinations were negative. Ultrasound examination of abdomen confirmed splenomegaly. Regenerative anaemia and thrombocytopenia were found on haematology. Microscopic examination of stained peripheral blood smear revealed Mycoplasma haemofelis organisms on the surface of erythrocytes. Oxytetracycline @ 10mg/kg b. wt. was given intramuscularly for 2 days and Doxycycline @ 10 mg/kg b. wt. orally for 14 days along with fluids and Vitamin supplementation. The kitten recovered uneventfully.
