Surgical Management of Humeral Diaphyseal Fracture in a Dog

Abstract

A male dog was presented with history of accident and non weight bearing lameness of right fore limb. Physical examination revealed swelling and crepitus at mid arm region. Radiography of humerus revealed complete oblique diaphyseal fracture of distal one third humerus. Patient fracture assessment score was three. Fracture was stablized with threaded intramedullary pin along with hemicerclage wiring. Animal made an uneventful recovery.
