The present study was conducted in crossbred dairy cows of Western Rajasthan. Two times sampling were done in each animal pre and post-treatment. The sub-clinical ketosis was diagnosed on the basis of plasma BHBA>1.2 mmol/L and NEFA>0.7 mmol/L during post partum period. Therapeutic trial was conducted using Propylene glycol and choline biocarbonate in sub-clinical ketosis cows. The result revealed increase in the value of glucose, milk yield and decrease NEFA, BHBA levels after propylene glycol supplementation. Whereas, no significant change were recorded in total protein, albumin, PUN, creatinine, AST, ALT and triglyceride. Highly significant increases mean value of glutathione and decrease in malondialdehyde was also observed. Similarly, highly significant decreased GGT value and significant increased cholesterol, calcium level in pre to post-treatment. While NEB is a physiologically normal process, excessive NEB reflects poor adaptation and results in adverse health and production effects after calving.
