Abstract

A Jersey crossbred cow in advanced gestation was diagnosed as left unilateral ventral hernia of gravid uterus. The abdomen was found enlarged left ventrally and extended caudally along with udder up to base of vulva. Caesarean operation was performed and a healthy live foetus was delivered and hernial ring was closed. A course of antibiotic, antihistaminic, vitamin B-complex along with fluid therapy was provided to guard post-operative complications. Animal recovered normally without any complications.
