Six month old partially anorectic, depressed and severly dehydrated Holstein Freisian crossbred female calf having open wound discharging straw coloured grain mixed digesta from umbilicus was diagnosed as umbilical hernia with abomasal fistula. Surgical correction after separation of adhesions was made by herniorraphy under sedation and local infiltration in lateral recumbency. Post-operative antibiotic, anti-inflammatory and anti-histaminic were given in prescribed doses. Recovery was uneventful and sutures were removed on 12th post-operative day.
