Eleven dogs were presented with history of swelling at the base of affected ear, head tilting to affected side, constant ear scratching, head shaking and rubbing of ears against other objects with offensive odour and oozing from auditory meatus varying from 2-4 months. Physical, radiographic and cytological examinations confirmed otitis externa due to mixed infection of fungus and bacteria. Ear flushings were undertaken with normal physiological saline. Povidone iodine, Hydrogen peroxide and ear cleanser and then instillation with otic drops as per culture and sensitivity test on regular basis. Parenteral administration of oral Ketoconazole @ 5 mg/kg, antibiotic Ciprofloxacin @ 10mg/kg b. wt. I/M for 5 days and Meloxicam @ 0.2mg/kg b. wt. I/M for consecutive 3 days were given. After 5-7 days of treatment, improvement was evident in all cases and complete recovery was observed at the end of 12-15 days of continued regular therapy.
