Buccal diverticulum in a buffalo heifer was diagnosed by its symptoms like large spherical and non fluctuating swelling on lateral aspect of buccal cavity in front of masseter muscle with doughy consistency. The diverticulum was thought to be due to intrinsic weakness of buccal mucosa with subsequent trauma. The diverticulum was excised and surgically treated.
