Abstract

The study recorded the clinical signs and isolation of P.multocida from suspected blood samples of Haemorrhagic Septicaemia (HS) affected buffaloes from field outbreaks. All blood samples/isolates were tested directly from the culture. Out of twenty six samples, only three could be grown on blood agar plate. A total of three samples were identified as Pasteurella multocida on the basis of cultural characterstics and biochemical tests. Bacteria also showed characteristic bipolar staining with Gram's stain.
