Post-Mortem Findings of Vital Organs in Zoo Animals

The study was carried out on post-mortem lesions in lung, heart and kidney in 234 zoo animals that died during the period of six years i.e. January’ 2009 to December’ 2014. The study revealed that incident of lesions were maximum in lungs followed by heart and kidney. However in proboscida and ursids, similar occurence was observed in heart and lungs but lesser in kidney similar to other groups. The overall analysis of lesions revealed that most of dead animals 232 (99.14 percent) were having lesions in lungs followed by heart 149 (63.67 percent) and was lowest in kidney (34, 14.52 percent).
