Mandibular fracture in a calf and its treatment with tape muzzling and oesophagostomy is reported. A three days old crossbred calf was presented with mandibular fracture sustained during obstetrical manipulation to relieve dystocia. Clinical examination and radiographic examination revealed fracture of both horizontal rami of mandible. Under general anaesthesia, cervical oesophagostomy was performed and enteral feeding tube was placed. Tape muzzle was applied as external co-aptation for stabilization of mandibular fracture fragments. The animal responded well to treatment and recovered uneventful.
