Abstract

The report describes surgical management of tumors involving lower jaw in three cattle. Radiographic evaluation revealed involvement of mandible with lytic changes. Clinical examination revealed firm nodular to semisolid mass on lower lip, difficulty in prehension and mastication, drooling of saliva, quidding and reduced appetite. Successful surgical treatment with bilateral rostral mandibulectomy in one animal and unilateral mandibulectomy in other two cattle was performed to excise wider area of affected tissue. Post-operatively, all animals recovered without any complications.
