Abstract

Cattle suffering with traumatic reticuloperitonitis (TRP) exhibited signs of chronic anorexia, elevated rectal temperature, tachycardia, tachypnoea, atonic rumen and constipation. Haematology revealed significant erythrocytopenia, higher PCV, lower haemoglobin concentration and significant leucocytosis with neutrophilia. Sero biochemical findings indicated reduced level of glucose and increased levels of AST, BUN and creatinine. Rumenotomy and correction of rumen pH found to be effective in management of foreign body syndrome.
