Clinical, Ferroscopic and Ultrasonographic Investigation in Diaphragmatic Hernia and Traumatic Pericarditis in Bovines

Seventeen bovines were clinically investigated for presence of diaphragmatic hernia and traumatic pericarditis by ferrroscope and ultrasonography. The study was undertaken to identify the most common clinical signs and findings available in diaphragmatic hernia and traumatic pericarditis for clinically better differential diagnosis. Chronic tympany, empty rectum and fluid splashing sound between 4–6^th intercostal spaces were reliable clinical sign for diagnosis of diaphragmatic hernia while bilateral jugular vein distension, muffled or rubbery sound along edematous swelling at brisket region are more reliable for traumatic pericarditis.
