Abstract

A pup was reported with history of coughing, laboured breathing and gagging since last three days. Medicinal management was not able to alleviate the symptoms. Lateral and ventro-dorsal radiographs of cervical and thoracic region were able to establish presence of a hollow cylindrical foreign body in mid cervical region. Positional manipulations were not able to retrieve the obstructed foreign body. Endoscopically a cylindrical plastic foreign body was visualised in trachea at the level of C2-C3 cervical vertebral process. Foreign body was retrieved from the cervical trachea using endoscopic basket. Signs were relieved and patient recovered satisfactorily during post-operative period.
