Abstract

1200 Blood smears of canines and 800 of bovines were analysed via microscopic examination. The diseases diagnosed were leukemias and parasitemias. Apart from diseases, the conditions with clinical and prognostic significance recorded were regenerative shift to left, degenerative shift to left, neutrophilia, eosinophilia, lymphocytosis, toxic neutrophilia, relative thrombocytosis, relative thrombocytopenia and anaemia characteried by presence of target cells, howell jolly bodies, immature nucleated RBCs, spherocytes, anisocytes, poikilocytes, microcytes and hypochromasia.
