An outbreak of sarcoptic mange was diagnosed in rabbits aged from 20 days to 5 months. A total of 20 (52.63 percent) out of 38 rabbits were affected with erythema, dandruff, white indurated dry crust like lesions on nose, ears, face, around ears, paws, around genitalia and over dorsal surface with brownish discharge, inappetence to anorexia, pale conjunctival mucous membranes, intense itching and increase in fighting habits amongst affected animals. Confirmatory diagnosis was made by skin scrapings examination and demonstration of Sarcoptes scabiei mites. Affected rabbits were successfully treated and managed by subcutaneous administration of Ivermectin @ 300 mcg/kg b.wt. on weekly intervals for three weeks.
