Abstract

Eight years old stallion was reported with a watermelon sized fleshy ulcerated mass located at croup region since last one year. The mass resembles exuberant granulation tissue with maggot infestation and continuous exudation. The tumorous mass was removed surgically under general anesthesia. Histopathological examination revealed fibroblastic proliferation with fibroblast arranged in whirling pattern showing anisocytosis and anikaryosis. The mitototic figures were of low and rare appearance confirming fibroblastic sarcoid. Animal showed healthy granulation and no signs of recurrence till 40th day of follow up.
