Abstract

The study was conducted to evaluate therapeutic efficacy of Mammidium, a preparation containing milk pH buffer, anti-oxidants and immuno-modulator vitamins and minerals in sub-clinical mastitis in Surti buffaloes. Two therapeutic regimens were evaluated separately in two groups of six animals each. In group I, only milk buffer, anti-oxidants and immunomodulator vitamins and minerals was given whereas in group II, Amoxycillin and Sulbactam combination with milk pH buffer, anti-oxidants and immuno-modulators were given. Interpretation of results showed only slight variation in both groups as far as faster recovery was concerned. It was concluded that milk pH buffer, anti-oxidants and immunomodulators even without antibiotic had importance in eliminating intramammary infection in buffaloes.
