Twenty six thoroughbred mares between six to fifteen years age were studied for placental and fetal examination after foaling. Foal weight at birth, weight of placenta and placental expulsion time was found to be 105.77± 2.81 lbs, 13.67±0.50 lbs and 24.38±1.81 min respectively. Placento-metric length parameters of total placental body, pregnant horn, non pregnant horn, anterior and posterior uterine body along with length of umbilical cord were observed to be 127.35±1.40, 61.46±1.84, 51.50±1.77, 94.42±1.70, 54.73±1.74 and 56.38±1.88 cms. respectively. Mean number of umbilical twists were 5.46±0.20 and feto-placental ratio and placental coefficient were also noted. All parameter were studied separately in colts and fillies but showed no significant stastical difference.
