Stab incision and needle paracentesis techniques for management of ocular setariasis - a report of two horses

Two horses were presented with corneal cloudiness and ocular discomfort. On opthalmic examination, a rapidly moving greyish white worm was found in anterior eye chamber. In case I, standing anterior chamber paracentesis using 16 gauge needle under supraorbital and auriculopalpebral nerve block was undertaken and in case II, stab incision close to the limbus was done using no. 11 BP blade under sedation with Xylazine @ 1,1 mg/ kg and Ketamine @ 2.2 mg/ kg for eye worm removal. The worms was identified as Setaria equina under microscopic examination.
