Abstract

Therapeutic efficacy of trypanocides drugs was evaluated against trypanosomosis in donkeys. The efficacy was evaluated based on remission of clinical signs; time required for elimination of Trypanosoma evansi from blood stream; improvement in clinical, hematological and blood-biochemical parameters and extent of reversal towards normalcy and duration required for clinical recovery. It was concluded that Isometamidium hydrochloride therapeutic regimen was superior in treating trypanosomosis in donkeys. However considering better clinical recovery, use of either Isometamidium hydrochloride or Quinapyramine sulphate plus Quinapyramine chloride therapy regimen can be employed for successful treatment of Trypanosomosis in donkeys.
