Five foals were admitted with history of unilateral lameness and hoof dragging during walking. Clinical examination revealed jerky movement during locomotion and toe dragging of affected limb. On basis of clinical examination, animals were diagnosed with upward patellar fixation. Surgical management of all five foals was carried out by medial patellar ligament desmotomy. Immediately after desmotomy, all five foals walking normally without any lameness and recovered fully.
