A geld was presented with injury on left hind limb, sustained due to kick injury. The case was diagnosed as transected superficial digital flexor tendon. Tenorrhaphy was undertaken by Bunnel Meyer pattern. Reinforcement was done with Pennington locking loop suture pattern. Post-operatively, animal was kept on anti-tetanus toxoid, antibiotics and anti-inflammatories. Proud flesh was noticed on fourteenth day post-operatively on suture line which was cauterized with potassium permanganate. A typical exercise program of ten minutes walk daily to facilitate tendon healing was practiced for a month. The animal was followed for over two years and led normal life with out showing any lameness.
