Intravenous regional limb perfusion and triple-sulphate therapy for management of chronic cellulitis and thrush in a mare

Abstract

A Marwari mare was presented with recurrent bacterial infection of limb region. Clinical examination revealed severe pus oozing out abscess below the fetlock joint region. Animal exhibited lameness of affected limb as well as increased pulse of digital artery. For chronic cellulitis, intravenous regional limb perfusion technique was used and for thrush, triple sulphate therapy was advocated. Affected animal recovered after fourteen days of therapy and marked improvement in lameness was also noticed.
