A filly was referred with penetrating thoracic injury caused by a peg in right ventral thoracic wall just behind the elbow. Tachypnoea and tachycardia were present. Hissing sound during inspiration and expiration was observed. The horse was anaesthetized and maintained with Xylazine-Ketamine combination. The intercostal muscle along with pleura was closed with interlocking suture pattern, other muscles with simple interrupted suture and skin with cotton thread. Post-operatively, the horse was maintained with fluids, antibiotics and NSAID’s. The horse made an uneventful recovery.
