Abstract

A mule was presented with gradually increasing swelling on left lateral abdomen since six months. Clinical and ultrasonographic examination revealed defect in abdominal wall forming a hernial ring with irreducible contents mainly intestines. Under inhalant anaesthesia, hernioplasty was performed using polypropylene mesh and animal recovered uneventfully.
