Abstract

A pluriparous cow in her fourth lactation and fifth gestational month was presented with purulent vaginal discharge for last five days. Based on rectal and vaginal examination, the condition was diagnosed as fetal maceration. The macerated fetus and its contents were removed through left paralumbar laparo-hysterotomy. The animal was inseminated during subsequent second estrus, which occurred sixty days post surgery. The cow gave birth to a healthy female calf with normal gestation.
