Abstract

The present communication records surgical removal of broken teat canula from teat cistern of a crossbred cow. The foreign body was accidentally broken while treating the teat elsewhere. Physical examination and radiography confirmed broken teat cannula inside teat cistern. Under ring block anesthesia and aseptic surgical procedure, the metallic broken piece was removed, sutured and dressed aseptically. Complete healing and suture removal was undertaken after ten days and hand milking was possible there after.
