A cattle calf was presented with swelling at the umbilicus since birth. On palpation, an oval hernial ring of large size and reducible nature was recorded. Herniorrhaphy was undertaken under local anaesthesia. Hernial ring was closed by applying vest over pant suture pattern. Broad spectrum antibiotic was given intramuscularly for five days post-operatively and complete healing was observed within fourteen days.
