Abstract

A buffalo was presented with inappetance, emaciation, decreased milk production and swelling under the jaw. Clinical examination and microscopic examination of feces confirmed fasciolosis. The hemato-biochemical parameters before treatment revealed low level of hemoglobin, PCV, total protein and albumin, while increased values were recorded for globulin, SGPT, SGOT and total bilirubin. The animal was treated with single dose of Triclabendazole @ 12 mg/kg orally along with supportive therapy and complete recovery was observed after two weeks of treatment.
